Deli Yengeç is a small fish and seafood restaurant on Filistin Street in Çankaya. It opened in 2007, and its idea is simple: Ankara has no sea, but it can still have very fresh fish. The team buys fish caught overnight in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara seas and chooses what is in season. Meals usually start with cold mezes such as şakşuka, Cretan-style ezme, artichoke hearts and shrimp with avocado. Hot starters include grilled octopus, sardine skewers, grilled crab and calamari. Main fish change with the season and may include sea bream, sea bass, grouper or bluefish. There are also Aegean wild greens and cheeses like saganaki and halloumi. The restaurant suits a long evening of fish and meze, and it asks guests to book ahead.
