What cookies are

Cookies are small text records that a website asks your browser to keep. They can maintain a secure session, remember a choice or help a service understand whether requests belong to the same visit. Similar browser storage may serve related functions.

Cookies Ankara.com uses

Ankara.com uses essential and preference cookies needed for ordinary service functions. When Google Analytics is enabled for the deployed site, it can also use optional analytics cookies after you allow them. Advertising storage and personalisation remain disabled.

• A session cookie keeps requests connected, supports sign-in and carries temporary interface messages. It normally expires when the session ends or after the configured inactivity period.
• An XSRF-TOKEN cookie helps protect forms and account actions against cross-site request forgery.
• A remember-me cookie may be created when you explicitly choose to remain signed in. It lasts longer than the normal session and can be removed by signing out or clearing site data.
• A sidebar preference cookie remembers whether the account navigation was open or collapsed.
• An appearance preference is stored in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage so the service can remember whether you selected light, dark or system mode.
• The ankara_cookie_consent cookie records whether you chose essential cookies only or allowed optional preference or analytics cookies. It expires after one year so the banner does not ask again on every visit.
• When enabled and allowed, Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish visits and report aggregate use. Google normally retains these identifiers for up to two years unless you clear them sooner.

External services

Links from Ankara.com can open independent venue, map, social, museum or transport websites. Those websites may set their own cookies after you visit them. Their cookie practices are controlled by them, not by Ankara.com, and should be reviewed on the destination service.

When configured, Google Analytics receives page views and events such as searches, filter choices, listing selections, saves, shares, contact outcomes, sign-in methods, directions, outbound links and media interactions. We do not send contact-form contents, email addresses, passwords or phone numbers in analytics events.

Images uploaded to Ankara.com are stored and delivered as part of the guide. We do not intentionally load remote prototype or image-hosting services merely to display those uploads.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you inspect, block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in, contact forms, saved places and security protections from working correctly. Clearing cookies may sign you out and reset interface preferences.

When analytics is enabled, the cookie banner lets you continue with essential cookies only or allow Google Analytics cookies. Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage denied unless you allow it. You can change the choice by clearing the ankara_cookie_consent cookie and choosing again.
