Çiçek Lokantası is one of Ankara's long-running Turkish restaurants, serving home-style cooking since 1968. The family business opened a second branch in 2011 in Söğütözü, on the Eskişehir Road, and this large 1,000 square metre space has an indoor dining room, a terrace and four private rooms for meetings and business meals. The day starts with breakfast, moves on to lunch, and dinner service begins at 6 pm. The menu covers soups, slow-cooked stews, grills, olive-oil vegetable dishes and light syrupy or milk-based desserts. Well-known plates include oven-baked lamb shank, lamb tandır, Elbasan tava and candied pumpkin, and around 40 olive-oil dishes are made fresh each day. The restaurant suggests booking ahead for lunch, when it is busiest.
