About Alaz Restoran

Alaz is a fire-focused Anatolian restaurant in Çayyolu, created with the well-known Turkish chef Mehmet Yalcınkaya. The name means "flame", and almost everything on the menu is cooked over fire or hot coals. The idea comes from the old migration routes across Anatolia: nomad tents, stone ovens and food cooked on embers. The kitchen mixes these old methods with modern plating. You can expect grilled meat on skewers, charcoal-cooked vegetables, gözleme-style flatbreads and fermented products, plus cocktails and Turkish wines. The dining room is calm and stylish, with warm lights and dark wood, and it suits a special dinner more than a quick lunch. Prices are high. There is a second Alaz in Yeşilköy, Istanbul.
